The two energy beams met and struggled in the middle of the hallway, immediately releasing enough heat to set off the school’s sprinkler system. Ionizing radiation caused the falling water droplets to sparkle and snap, a cloud of micro-novae around a raging core. Streaks of light shot out randomly, perpendicular from the beams’ paths, burning holes in bricks and melting gouges in locker doors.
Plasmator began to shout, a sequence of ever-louder whoops adding to the din from the crackling water. Green Girl stood grimly, her hands clutching her hips, her eyes blazing around the edges of the bright green energy beams that shot forth.
Plasmator was an ass. There was no way she was going to let him get away this time.
