If you ask the average person-on-the-street, they will likely admit that superheroes all have a few flaws, but that by and large they are decent, normal people with exceptional abilities.

It makes sense, really. Who wants to admit that there are people out there with crazy-level abilities who also happen to be exceptionally good at being people? And who could sleep at night thinking that the people they unconsciously rely on for their safety in a hyped-out world are actually nasty bastards who just happened to fall on the right side of the law, and realized what a good thing it was to stay there (most of the time)? The average person does not think too deeply about superheroes. That’s a good thing.

Otherwise, they just might get a permanent case of the heebie-jeebies.
